The practical demands of the IB Natural Science courses are rigorous and demanding. Each student completes a ten hour Individual Investigation for each Natural Science subject that they take.

They design their own experimental protocol, collect data, analyze their results and write a report of their investigation. These investigations are submitted to the IB and contribute 20% to the overall IB grade earned at the end of Grade 12. The IB Chemistry students were the first science students to complete the process this year. After so much hard work, students gain a great sense of achievement. The culminating event of the investigation is to make an oral presentation to their peers. By looking at the videos here, you can see the various investigations that the Chemistry students completed.
